June 2026 – The organization founded by ROC Clinic presented the main areas of focus for its foundation in Madrid: international cooperation, scientific research, and medical training.

On June 18, the ROC Foundation held its official launch at the Sala SOLO in Madrid, at an event that brought together representatives from the healthcare, business, institutional, and foundation sectors to share the vision, projects, and lines of action that will shape the organization’s future.

The event was attended by prominent figures at a gathering designed to forge new partnerships with the clear goal of sharing the Foundation’s vision in order to expand the scope of its projects in the coming years.

The presentation was led by the Dr. Javier Romero-Otero, president of the ROC Foundation, and Dr. Juan Justo Quintas, the organization’s vice president, who discussed the foundation’s origins, its main areas of focus, and some of the projects already underwayboth in Spain and in countries where access to certain services is more limited.

The ROC Foundation was founded with a clear mission: to improve people’s lives through health and education by promoting projects that combine science, humanity, and hope. Based in Madrid and with an international focus, it represents the joint effort of a team of professionals who view medicine not only as a healthcare discipline but also as a tool for social transformation.

During the meeting, the three main pillars on which the Foundation's activities are based were presented.

The first of these is medical training and education, through fellowship programs, training stays, and rotations designed for professionals interested in expanding their knowledge of advanced surgical techniques. The goal is to promote access to high-quality training and contribute to the development of specialists capable of transferring that knowledge to their home institutions.

The second pillar is scientific research, achieved by promoting clinical studies, collaborating with research centers, and supporting initiatives aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of urological diseases. This represents a firm commitment to innovation and the generation of knowledge that will enable continued progress in the medicine of the future.

The third area of focus is international health cooperation, one of the areas that received the most attention during the presentation. Currently, the ROC Foundation is carrying out
projects in various countries with the goal of improving access to specialized health care, strengthening local capacities, and promoting the development of communities with limited resources.

Notably, the organization is carrying out work in Tanzania in collaboration with the Spanish Foundation for Health Cooperation (FECS) and various local partners, supporting the healthcare and training activities of the Bugando Medical Center and the Mwanzugi Health Center.
In addition, the Foundation is helping to establish a secondary school that will expand educational opportunities for future generations in the region.

The presentation also highlighted the highly complex urological surgery campaigns that the Foundation carries out in Honduras in partnership with the Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital in San Pedro Sula, as well as other projects aimed at bringing specialized health care to particularly vulnerable populations.

During his remarks, Dr. Javier Romero-Otero emphasized the importance of building a project based on collaboration and collective commitment:“The ROC Foundation was created with the mission of giving back to society a portion of what we have received over the years. We want to promote projects that create opportunities, strengthen healthcare systems, and help improve people’s lives where they are needed most.”

The official launch of the ROC Foundation marks the beginning of a new phase for the organization, which looks to the future with the goal of continuing to bring on board partners, institutions, and companies
committed to a shared vision: using health, education, and cooperation as drivers of development and social transformation.
