Madrid, November 11, 2025 - The ROC Foundation was created to promote health, education and wellness through international cooperation projects, scientific research and medical education around the world.

Since its creation, the ROC Clinic group has established itself as a benchmark in comprehensive urological health care, combining medical excellence, technological innovation and deeply human attention.

Its commitment to patients goes beyond health, based on the conviction that medicine also has a social, educational and solidarity dimension. In this line, and with the desire to expand its positive impact, ROC Clinic has taken a decisive step by creating the ROC Foundation, a non-profit organization that channels this commitment to society from three main areas: international cooperation in disadvantaged countries, scientific research and urological training.

The ROC Foundation was created with a clear mission: to improve people's lives through urological health and education, promoting projects that combine science, humanity and hope.

Based in Madrid and with an international vocation, it represents the joint effort of a team of professionals led by Dr. Javier Romero Otero, who understands urology not only as a medical discipline, but also as an opportunity to transform lives. Behind every diagnosis there is a human story that deserves attention, research and support, and that is precisely the essence of the foundation.

The ROC Foundation develops its activity in three main lines of action. The first line is in the field of training and teaching, facilitating the access of professionals in the field of urology to scholarship programs, training stays and rotations to acquire knowledge in cutting-edge surgical techniques. In this way, the foundation promotes a highly specialized medicine that, at the same time, integrates a vision of closeness and accompaniment to the patient.

The foundation's second pillar, scientific research. In a rapidly evolving healthcare environment, the ROC Foundation promotes clinical studies, collaborates with research centers and supports initiatives aimed at improving urological treatments. This commitment to generating its own knowledge enables medical practice not only to respond to current needs, but also to imagine and build more effective solutions for the future.

The third line, international cooperation. The Foundation works to open doors where opportunities are fewer, collaborating with hospitals in countries with limited resources, offering diagnostics, training and quality treatments and bringing resources, knowledge and support where they are most needed.

In Tanzania, the ROC Foundation, in collaboration with the Spanish Foundation for Health Cooperation (FECS) and various local partners, is working to strengthen the urology unit of the Bugando Medical Center hospital and the Mwanzugi health center, promoting local surgical campaigns and training health professionals both in Tanzania and through training stays in Spain. The creation of a secondary school in Mwanzugi has also begun. It will provide quality education for the new generations, thus strengthening the link between health, training and community development.

The project seeks not only to provide immediate medical care, but also to strengthen local capacities through the donation of surgical equipment, the maintenance of specialized instruments and the transfer of knowledge. The aim is clear: to create a self-sufficient and lasting model capable of transforming urological care in the region and improving the lives of thousands of people in the long term.

In Honduras, the ROC Foundation carries out several highly complex urological surgery campaigns in collaboration with the Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital in San Pedro Sula. This triple mission - training, research and cooperation - makes the ROC Foundation's project more than just an institutional program. It is a work with soul, a solidarity response to those who have been less fortunate in accessing urological medical care.

The ROC Foundation invites society as a whole, institutions, companies and individuals, to join in this mission. Each donation, each collaboration, each diffusion, multiplies the impact and helps the foundation to fulfill its mission.
