TheUrinary Lithiasis rotation program is designed to provide intensive clinical and surgical experience in the comprehensive management of patients with urinary tract lithiasis. Through an observational methodology, participants are integrated into the daily practice of a highly specialized team, with access to state-of-the-art technology.

 

Program Objectives

  • To know in depth the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of urinary lithiasis.
  • To observe advanced surgical techniques such as flexible ureteroscopy, Holmium laser and percutaneous surgery.
  • To understand the multidisciplinary approach in the management of the lithiasic patient.
  • Participate in clinical sessions and team training activities.
  • Familiarization with follow-up and recurrence prevention protocols.

Duration

Up to 3 months, adapting to the participant's availability and training objectives, in order to guarantee a personalized experience of high academic value.

Program Content

The program is structured to provide an intensive, observational clinical experience, with the following focus:

  • Outpatient:Clinical evaluation, interpretation of imaging tests and therapeutic planning.
  • Lithiasis surgery:Observation of rigid and flexible ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and combined techniques.
  • Follow-up and prevention:Strategies for metabolic control and prevention of recurrences.
  • Clinical sessions: Complex cases, literature review and update on surgical techniques.

Methodology

The program is based onpractical and immersive training, focused on direct observation of real clinical cases. Participants accompany our specialists in their daily activities, both in the office and in the operating room, integrating themselves into the team's daily flow of care.

Thiscase observationmethodology consists of:

  • Direct clinical observationin specialized lithiasis consultations.
  • Operating room assistance in endourological and minimally invasive procedures.
  • Participation in clinical sessions, discussion of cases and review of clinical guidelines.
  • Interaction with the multidisciplinary team, including urology, radiology, nephrology and nutrition.

The approach is designed to offer a realistic, personalized and clinically valuable training experience , tailored to the level and objectives of the rotating professional.

Requirements

  • Maximum duration:3 months.
  • Places are limitedaccording to availability in each specialty.
  • Application at least 4 months in advance.
  • Active linkagewith a health institution during the rotation.
