BPH and Prostatic Pathology

Through this rotation, participants will have the opportunity to integrate into a multidisciplinary team, attend complex surgical procedures, participate in clinical sessions and receive direct training from specialists with extensive national and international experience. Our mission is to contribute to the educational excellence of future leaders in the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and other types of prostate pathologies, promoting learning based on real clinical practice and continuous innovation.

Program Objectives

  • To acquire advanced knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of BPH and other prostate pathologies.
  • To observe surgical techniques such as laser prostatic enucleation, transurethral resection aquablation and minimally invasive procedures.
  • To understand the comprehensive management of the prostate patient, from initial evaluation to postoperative follow-up.
  • Participate in clinical sessions and teaching activities specific to the area.
  • To promote learning in a multidisciplinary and highly specialized environment.

Duration

Up to 3 months, adapting to the participant's availability and training objectives, in order to guarantee a personalized experience of high academic value.

Program Content

The program is structured to provide an intensive, observational clinical experience, with the following focus:

  • Outpatient:Evaluation of lower urinary tract symptoms, urodynamic studies, prostate ultrasound and therapeutic decision making.
  • Surgical activity: Observation of laser techniques, aquablation, TUR and open surgery in selected cases.
  • Clinical sessions:Discussion of complex cases, review of clinical guidelines and bibliographic update.
  • Complementary rotation:Possibility of observing procedures in related areas such as Uro-Oncology or Robotic Surgery, according to availability.

Methodology

The program is based onpractical and immersive training, focused on direct observation of real clinical cases. Participants accompany our specialists in their daily activities, both in the office and in the operating room, integrating themselves into the team's daily flow of care.

Thiscase observationmethodology consists of:

  • Direct clinical observationin specialized consultations of BPH and prostate pathology.
  • Operating room assistancein procedures such as HoLEP, ThuLEP, TFLEP, TUR, Aquablation and other innovative techniques.
  • Participation in clinical sessions, case reviews and discussion of therapeutic protocols.
  • Interaction with the multidisciplinary team, including urology, radiology, anesthesia and specialized nursing.

The approach is designed to offer arealistic, personalized and clinically valuable training experience, tailored to the level and objectives of the rotating professional.

Requirements

  • Maximum duration: 3 months.
  • Places are limitedaccording to availability in each specialty.
  • Application at least 4 months in advance.
  • Active involvementwith a health institution during the rotation.
